All these comments are only reenforcing what I was thinking as I watched this video... Bullies today must be sissies or wimps compared to what they were in my day. Name calling? That's what we call bullying today? Really? What do you call the guy who slaps your head down when getting a drink from the fountain? Kicks your leg sideways and shoves you from behind while you're walking down the hall? Sticks you with thumbtacks from behind in class? What were those guys? Because when I was in school we called them "bullies" and we laughed at "name callers".

I think you are treating a complex issue as black and white and that is a disservice to all the people who have died because of it.

I agreed how he had explained to handle a bully but I believe it take a combination of both to need self esteem too because take a child who may be having a hard time with her/they or his school works including trying to find herself/theyself or himself what passions she/they or he is interested and good at can have a huge toll if the bully ever find that out about their prey. Everyone is trying to find themselves among each of our journey paths; that can be hard for many but not so much for other though the one who may not struggle as much still do struggle in someway. I also believe bully need to be taken seriously with the law just like any other crime no matter the age. Bully is a form of abused assault.

Interesting theory. So the reaction should be “not to get upset” when being bullied, but how can I achieve that? All I can do is pretending not to get upset and I don’t think that will work. However, he also mentioned that one needs to build self-esteem, self-confidence and self-worth. I guess those are the prerequisite for one being able to not feel upset and win the bully. So the question now becomes how to build self-confidence/esteem/worth? I don’t know
